Burger King opens 6th eatery in Killeen-Fort Hood area

Killeen residents have a new location where they can pick up a Whopper.

A new Burger King opened May 8 at 2902 Clear Creek Road, bringing the number of fast-food restaurants famous for serving flame-broiled hamburgers in the Killeen-Fort Hood area to six.

Four of those Burger Kings, including the new one on Clear Creek Road, are owned by El Paso-based Ampler Burgers LLC. The company’s other area Burger Kings are at 505 E. Rancier, Killeen; 1001 E. Business U.S. Highway 190, Copperas Cove; and 206 N. Interstate 35, Belton. Two Burger Kings are at Fort Hood, and are run by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.
